    I swear by the Day of Resurrection

    75:2

    Sahih International

    And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection].

    75:3

    Does man think that We will not assemble his bones?

    75:4

    to top
    75:4
    Sahih International

    Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips.

    75:5

    to top
    75:5
    Sahih International

    But man desires to continue in sin.

    75:6

    to top
    75:6
    Sahih International

    He asks, “When is the Day of Resurrection?”

    75:7

    to top
    75:7
    Sahih International

    So when vision is dazzled

    75:8

    to top
    75:8
    Sahih International

    And the moon darkens

    75:9

    to top
    75:9
    Sahih International

    And the sun and the moon are joined,

    75:10

    to top
    75:10
    Sahih International

    Man will say on that Day, “Where is the [place of] escape?”

    75:11

    Sahih International

    No! There is no refuge.

    75:12

    to top

    Sahih International

    To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence.

    75:13

    Sahih International

    Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back.

    75:14

    to top
    75:14
    Sahih International

    Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness,

    75:15

    to top
    75:15
    Sahih International

    Even if he presents his excuses.

    75:16

    to top
    75:16
    Sahih International

    Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur’an.

    75:17

    Sahih International

    Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation.

    75:18

    Sahih International

    So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation.

    75:19

    Sahih International

    Then upon Us is its clarification [to you].

    75:20

    to top
    75:20
    Sahih International

    No! But you love the immediate

    75:21

    to top
    75:21
    Sahih International

    And leave the Hereafter.

    75:22

    Sahih International

    [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant,

    75:23

    to top
    75:23
    Sahih International

    Looking at their Lord.

    75:24

    Sahih International

    And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted,

    75:25

    to top
    75:25
    Sahih International

    Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking.

    75:26

    75:26
    Sahih International

    No! When the soul has reached the collar bones

    75:27

    to top
    75:27
    Sahih International

    And it is said, “Who will cure [him]?”

    Sahih International

    And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation

    75:29

    Sahih International

    And the leg is wound about the leg,

    75:30

    to top

    Sahih International

    To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession.

    75:31

    Sahih International

    And the disbeliever had not believed, nor had he prayed.

    75:32

    to top
    75:32
    Sahih International

    But [instead], he denied and turned away.

    75:33

    to top
    75:33
    Sahih International

    And then he went to his people, swaggering [in pride].

    Woe to you, and woe!

    75:35

    Sahih International

    Then woe to you, and woe!

    75:36

    to top

    Sahih International

    Does man think that he will be left neglected?

    75:37

    Sahih International

    Had he not been a sperm from semen emitted?

    75:38

    to top
    75:38
    Sahih International

    Then he was a clinging clot, and [ Allah ] created [his form] and proportioned [him]

    75:39

    Sahih International

    And made of him two mates, the male and the female.

    75:40

    Is not that [Creator] Able to give life to the dead?
